The site-specific sound art workshop will focus this year in the area of Isla 92 (Choele Choel) and the space of Cooperativa Agricola de Luis Beltrán, both places located at the Valle Medio of Río Negro State (Argentina). The workshop participants, lead by Alessandro Perini, will be able to explore spaces, sounds, stories from the location and create sound interventions to be experienced on-site by the audience. The workshop will focus on the different ways the experience of listening is affected by the place where it is happening, investigating the relationship by the aura or the site and the sonic matter placed to exist in that particular place.
El taller de arte sonoro site-specific se centrará este año en la zona de la Isla 92 (Choele Choel) y el espacio de la Cooperativa Agrícola de Luis Beltrán, ambos lugares situados en el Valle Medio de la Provincia de Río Negro (Argentina). Los participantes del taller, coordinados por Alessandro Perini, podrán explorar espacios, sonidos e historias del lugar para crear y desarrollar intervenciones sonoras que serán experimentadas in situ por el público. El taller se centrará en las diferentes formas en que la experiencia de la escucha se ve afectada por el lugar en el que está ocurriendo, investigando la relación entre el aura del entorno y la materia sonora que existe en ese lugar especifico.
Applicants requirements
Artists of any discipline who are interested in work with sound.
Participant should bring their own materials in order to develop their own installations/interventions.

Biography / Biografía
Alessandro Perini studied Composition (with Luca Francesconi and Ivan Fedele among others), Electronic Music and Science of Musical Communication in Italy and Sweden.
His artistic production ranges from instrumental and electronic music to audiovisual and light-based works, net-art, land-art and vibration-based works, recently focusing on custom-built machines.
He has taken part in festivals such as Biennale di Venezia, Milano Musica, BTzM Bludenz, Open Spaces Dresden, Festival Musica Strasbourg, Music Current Dublin, New Directions (Sweden), Procesas (Lithuania), UNM and Nordic Music Days (Iceland, Norway, Sweden), Moscow Forum, ReMusik Saint Petersburg, Tempus Fugit and Distat Terra (Argentina), MATA New York, KLANG Copenhagen, as well as being in residence at Fondazione Spinola Banna per L’Arte (Italy) in 2014 in the music program. A recent CD issued by KAIROS, “The Expanded Body”, gathers some of his solo and chamber music works.
He has participated in multiple artistic residencies including in Chiaravalle (Milano, Italy) for the Imagonirmia Prize (2016), realizing a series of site-specific sound art projects; in 2017 he was in residence at I-Park Foundation in Connecticut (2017); in 2018 at Fondazione Spinola Banna per L’Arte (Italy), where he designed machines to process the clay found on-site; and again in 2018 at the BIOART Society in Finnish Lapland. He was the recipient of the Commendation Award at the Global Digital Arts Prize, NTU Singapore (2019).
He has taught audiovisual production for the arts at the Conservatory of Como (Italy) and electronic music at the Malmö Academy of Music, as well as in workshops in Italy, Switzerland, Lithuania and South America. He is currently artistic supervisor at the Inter Arts Center in Malmö, taking care of incoming artists in residence and co-organizing sound-oriented activities.
He’s a founding member of Hertzbreakerz, a group curating – among other events – Sound Spaces Festival in Malmö (Sweden), and member of Ars Nova Ensemble, a formation devoted to the performance of newly written music.

Su producción artística abarca desde la música instrumental y electrónica hasta las obras audiovisuales y lumínicas, el net-art, el land-art y obras creadas en torno a lo vibracional, centrándose recientemente en máquinas construidas a medida.
Ha participado en festivales como la Biennale di Venezia, Milano Musica, BTzM Bludenz, Open Spaces Dresden, Festival Musica Strasbourg, Music Current Dublin, New Directions (Suecia), Procesas (Lituania), UNM y Nordic Music Days (Islandia, Noruega, Suecia), Moscow Forum, ReMusik San Petersburgo, Tempus Fugit y Distat Terra (Argentina), MATA Nueva York, KLANG Copenhague, además de ser Artista en Residencia en la Fondazione Spinola Banna per L’Arte (Italia) en 2014 en el programa de música. En la actualidad es supervisor artístico en el Inter Arts Center de Malmö, encargándose de los artistas residentes que llegan y coorganizando actividades vinculadas a lo sonoro.
