In this workshop, I want to work on both the classical and modern repertoire with the same approach. Read the text and try to understand what the composer means.
This is why I would like each group to bring at least two works that they wish to put into dialogue. To bring out either the contrasts or the parallels.
To make music is to study tradition and explore our century. Learn from the past and the future, become familiar with styles, contemporary notation, production or technique of new sounds.
Every musician should, in my opinion, constantly oscillate between tradition and modernity and this is what I propose to pass on in this workshop.
En este taller trabajaremos tanto el repertorio clásico como el moderno con el mismo enfoque y haremos especial hincapié en la lectura del texto y sobre la posible comprensión de lo que el compositor quiso decir.
Por eso me gustaría que cada grupo trajera al menos dos obras que quiera poner en diálogo. Para poner de manifiesto los contrastes y/o los paralelismos.
Hacer música es estudiar la tradición y explorar nuestro siglo. Aprender del pasado y del futuro, familiarizarse con los estilos, la notación contemporánea, la producción o la técnica de los nuevos sonidos.
Todo músico debería, en mi opinión, oscilar constantemente entre la tradición y la modernidad y esto es lo que me propongo transmitir en este taller.

Los talleres contarán con la posibilidad de alojamiento gratuito (habitaciones compartidas y baños compartidos, separadas por género). También se ofrecerá almuerzo y cena, con un menú fijo (opc. vegana incluida). Estas opciones de cortesía deberán ser solicitadas en el formulario de inscripción o por mail.
The workshops have the option of free accommodation (in shared rooms and shared bathrooms, separated by gender) and free meals (lunch and dinner, vegan included). Both of these options should be requested in the form.

Biography / Biografía
After completing her studies with a first price in the National Superior Conservatory of Music of Paris with Serge Collot, viola and Pierre et Nelly Pasquier, chamber music, Sylvie Altenburger was soloist in the Ensemble Intercontemporain in Paris under the direction of Pierre Boulez from 1980 to 1983. She founded in 1981 the Trio Des Lyres, a string trio devoted to contemporary music and classical repertoire on historical instruments and in 1996 the Rubin Quartet which was honored in the International Competition of Evian for the best Mozart interpretation. Her discography includes recordings such as «C’est un jardin secret, ma soeur, ma fiancée…» of Tristan Murail for solo viola, «Ikhoor» of Iannis Xenakis for string trio and the complete Bartok quartets among others. She was in 2014-2019 violist of Ensemble Aventure, based in Freiburg and devoted to contemporary music.
Sylvie Altenburger joined in 2002 the faculty of the University of Music Freiburg in Germany as professor of viola and chamber music.
Tras completar sus estudios, con un primer premio en el Conservatorio Nacional Superior de Música de París, con Serge Collot, viola y Pierre et Nelly Pasquier, música de cámara, Sylvie Altenburger fue solista en el Ensemble Intercontemporain de París bajo la dirección de Pierre Boulez entre 1980 y 1983. En 1981 fundó el Trio Des Lyres, un trío de cuerdas dedicado a la música contemporánea y al repertorio clásico con instrumentos históricos, y en 1996 el Cuarteto Rubin, que fue galardonado en el Concurso Internacional de Evian por la mejor interpretación de Mozart.
Su discografía incluye grabaciones como «C’est un jardin secret, ma soeur, ma fiancée…» de Tristan Murail para viola sola, «Ikhoor» de Iannis Xenakis para trío de cuerda y los cuartetos completos de Bartok entre otros. Entre 2014 y 2019 fue violista del Ensemble Aventure, conjunto con sede en Friburgo y dedicado a la música contemporánea.
Sylvie Altenburger se incorporó en 2002 a la Universidad de Música de Friburgo, en Alemania, como profesora de Viola y Música de Cámara.
